The LIMES PLUS Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a rigorous, fair, and transparent peer-review process. All manuscripts submitted to the Journal are evaluated solely on the basis of their academic merit, originality, methodological soundness, significance of findings, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the aims and scope of the Journal.

The Journal follows a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process. This approach helps ensure impartial evaluation and minimizes the potential for bias.

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine its suitability for the Journal. During this stage, the editorial office evaluates the manuscript for compliance with the Journal’s submission guidelines, originality, ethical standards, and relevance to the Journal’s scope. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external review.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject expertise. Reviewers are invited to evaluate the scientific quality, originality, research methodology, literature review, data analysis, interpretation of results, ethical compliance, and overall contribution of the manuscript. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and confidential feedback to assist both the editors and authors in improving the quality of the work.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor may make one of the following editorial decisions: Accept, Accept with Minor Revisions, Major Revisions Required, or Reject. Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation where necessary.

Editors make the final publication decision after carefully considering the reviewers’ comments, the authors’ responses, and the overall quality and significance of the manuscript. The Editor’s decision is final.

Reviewers are required to maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and associated materials. They must not disclose, reproduce, distribute, or use unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts for personal or professional advantage. Reviewers should promptly declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality and decline the review assignment where appropriate.

Authors are expected to submit original research that complies with accepted standards of publication ethics. The Journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts involving plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, unethical research practices, or any other form of academic misconduct. Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software before or during the peer-review process.

The Journal strives to complete the peer-review process as efficiently as possible while maintaining high standards of quality. However, review timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability, the complexity of the manuscript, and the number of revision rounds required.
